BEI Precision Systems & Space Company (BEIPSSC) provides application-based motion control components and sub-system solutions for space, military, range, tracking, and scientific programs. BEIPSSC has been continuously manufacturing optical encoders and motion systems for over 50 years. We have participated in space flight and military programs from the very beginning of our history, and we have an enviable reputation for quality and reliability in the most demanding applications. BEIPSSC systems are in use all over the world in satellites, missiles, planes, helicopters, ships, land vehicles, telescope and tracking mounts, as well as high-end industrial applications.
Recent technological advances include mixed-mode ASIC chips combining sensors with signal processing and intelligence. These “smart” sensors are one-tenth the size of those available just a few years ago, and some versions house complete microprocessors.

In October 2005, BEI Precision Systems & Space Division (BEISSD) and its publicly traded parent corporation, BEI Technologies, Inc. were acquired by Schneider Electric, a manufacturer of electrical distribution, industrial controls, and automation equipment.
The assets of BEI Technologies, Inc., including former divisions Newall and Systron Donner, were combined with the assets of Crouzet, Kavlico, and Crydom to create a new company, Custom Sensors & Technology Inc. CST is headquartered in Moorpark, California and provides sensors, controls and actuation products to the industrial, transportation, and military and aerospace markets.
A new company, BEI Precision Systems & Space Company, Inc. (BEIPSSC) was formed and incorporated in the state of Delaware and all the assets, liabilities and personnel of the former BEI Precision Systems & Space Division were transferred to BEI Precision Systems & Space Company, Inc.
