Alpha Moisture Systems manufacture a wide range of dewpoint meters and hygrometers for the measurement of trace moisture in gases and dry compressed air, encompassing an overall range from +20ºC to -110ºC dewpoint, ie 23,000 parts per million down to nearly 1 part per billion.

The extensive range of user friendly, microprocessor controlled dewpoint meters, hygrometers and sampling systems have been designed to meet the most demanding requirements and needs expressed by the industry.

Our in-house capability to design and prototype enables us to manufacture bespoke equipment to customers requirements and specifications.

The products are built using quality components, to the highest standards and specifications, compliant with our quality system which is accredited to ISO 9001:2008. We can therefore offer all our products with a generous warranty, guaranteeing reliability and performance.

Alpha Moisture Systems' range of portable hygrometers and dewpoint analysers have been designed with the requirements of the industrial user in mind. All instruments are fully self-contained and combine robust construction with microprocessor based electronics, to ensure that they consistently provide the operator with accurate and repeatable results. The user friendly range of instruments all incorporate the unique Desiccant Dry-Down Chamber assembly (see below), which enables the operator to obtain instantaneous readings in either the field or laboratory. Designed to operate using universally available standard batteries, the analysers can be continuously used in excess of 250 hours. Combining robust construction of high quality, fully interchangeable sensor technology and full after sales support, the portable analysers are guaranteed to provide a long and reliable service. The key to the operation of Alpha Moisture Systems' Portable Analysers is the unique Desiccant Dry-Down Chamber. By keeping the sensor dry between tests, the special assembly of the head ensures that the instrument is always ready for immediate use. The head assembly consists of two chambers which have a telescopic action. When the head assembly is in the 'closed' or 'Dry-Down' position, the sensor is completely surrounded by desiccant, which absorbs the remaining water moisture from the sensor and hence it is dry and ready for use. The small space at the bottom of the test chamber enables the sample pipe to be purged before the test commences without wetting the sensor. By placing a finger over the outlet of the head, the sample pressure is able to open the test chamber automatically, exposing the sensor to the gas being tested and enabling accurate reading of moisture content in the sample gas. After each test the head assembly is closed by depressing the inner section so that the sensor will again be dried by the desiccant, leaving the sensor ready for use time and time again. The desiccant is kept in the inner chamber and is not exposed to ambient room air or the sample gas, therefore there is no need for frequent regeneration or replacement of the desiccant.
 

 
Alpha Moisture Systems' range of single channel moisture analysers have been developed to meet the requirements of all applications, requiring on-line analysis at a single sample point. These instruments combine robust construction and advanced electronics to ensure that they will provide accurate moisture analysis through a long and reliable service life.

With larger analyser installations where multiple sample points are required, it is normally advantageous to use a multi channel analyser.

The multi channel instruments are based around a sub-rack assembly into which the individual channels can be inserted. Up to a maximum of 5 channels for the Model 400 and either 4, 8 or 12 channels in the case of the G2M. These units provide economic benefits and allow easy installation for an expanding plant which may have further requirements for moisture measurement in the future.

All on-line analysers are used in conjunction with any of a range of dedicated Ultra High Capacitance moisture sensors covering an overall range from -110ºC to +20ºC Dewpoint, 0.001 to 23,000 ppm(v). The Alpha Moisture Systems Model ADHT range are three wire, 24V powered, 4-20mA Dewpoint transmitters.

Incorporated into the design of these transmitters are advanced electronics allowing for a power supply varying from 18 to 30V DC and are configured to output a linear, isolated, 4-20mA signal for the chosen range.

Alpha Moisture Systems' range of sampling systems have been developed through many years of experience in industrial moisture analysis. All systems are built using the highest quality components to ensure long term performance and reliability even in the toughest of applications.

Reliability, serviceability and a well planned layout are of paramount importance in a sampling system. In view of this all our systems are constructed to the highest standards using quality components and with the following general features :-

SENSOR HOLDER - MODEL ASH

The 316 stainless steel holder is used to house the moisture sensor in on-line installations. Sample gas is passed through the unit via its high quality stainless steel compression fittings. Options include various sized inlet and outlet fittings and an additional port for installation of a sample pressure gauge.

DEWSMART SENSOR HOLDER - MODEL ADSH

The 316 stainless steel sensor holder is used to house the 4-20mA Dewpoint Transmitter for on-line installations. Sample gas is passed through the unit via its high quality stainless steel compression fittings. Options include various sized inlet and outlet fittings.

 
PRESSURE REGULATORS - MODEL APR

Pressure regulators are used for accurate control of pressure at all important points in a sample system. Three regulators are available for maximum inlet pressures of 28 barg (410psig), 238 barg (3500psig) and 415 barg (6000psig). Where a large pressure drop is required it is recommended that this be achieved using a primary high pressure regulator in series with a secondary low pressure regulator, to obtain two stage reduction. Options include various sized inlet and outlet fittings. Other regulators, with intermediate pressure ratings or with electrical heating, are also available.

 
FILTER UNIT - MODEL AFU

The filter unit is used to provide sensor protection from particulate contamination in the sample flow. Filtration efficiency is 99.99% removal of particles greater than 0.6 microns. The filter unit comes supplied with one filter cartridge and spare cartridges are available in packs of 10. Options include various sized inlet and outlet fittings. Coalescing filters, for removal of condensable contaminants, are available on request.

PRESSURE GAUGES - MODEL APG

Pressure gauges are used at various points within a sample system to indicate local system pressure. Two standard ranges ar available for pressure ranges 0-2 bar (0-30 psig) and 0-10 bar (0-160 psig). Other ranges are available on request.

 
FLOW METER - MODEL AFM

The flow meter is used to provide a visual indication and fine control of sample flow. The unit is scaled for air over the range 0-5 l/min. The unit should be installed after the moisture sensor at a maximum pressure of 100 psig. Options include various sized inlet and outlet fittings, and special scalings for gases other than air.

The Alpha Moisture Systems Pressure Dewpoint Calculator brings together many different measurement units and enables calculations to be made for moisture levels at different pressures.

ZENER BARRIER UNIT - MODEL AZB

The zener barrier unit (shunt diode safety barrier) should be utilised for on-line applications in hazardous areas. The zener barrier unit, which comes in a custom enclosure, and the analyser instrument must be situated in a safe area and only the moisture sensor is permitted in the hazardous area. The connection from the moisture sensor to the zener barrier is via low loss coaxial cable. The zener barrier can also be supplied without the enclosure for direct installation into an existing bus bar system.
