Appleton’s ATX MRE Series outlets provide multiple sockets for powering portable or stationary equipment in corrosive and hazardous locations. 16 and 32 Amp versions are available for powering lighting systems, conveyors, heaters, motor generators, air conditioners, compressors, pumps and similar equipment.
Safety features include a switch that allows total disconnection of power when the plug is removed, a flameproof chamber for containing the connection/disconnection of each phase, and short circuit protection. Additionally, the socket can only accept ATX plugs, although the plugs can be used in ordinary location sockets to provide maximum flexibility in the use of portable equipment.

- Plug and socket assembly is equipped with a patented silver plated linear switch which allows a total disconnection of power when plug is removed.
- The high voltage contact separation is in a fl ameproof chamber.
- The automatic electrical disconnection of each phase is contained in a second flameproof chamber.
- Short circuit protection is 20 kA, while normal reference is 10 kA.
- Different voltages are color coded for easy identifi cation.
- The sockets are keyed to accept only ATX plugs (other plugs can not be inserted).
- ATX plugs can be used in non-hazardous sockets.
